The Journal bio picture
  • Welcome to my Journal!!

    J. Wiggins began his journey into photography in late 2005 in Norman Oklahoma. After purchasing his first digital SLR, he began shooting various events in the Oklahoma City metroplex college community. After losing one of his close friends to an act of senseless violence, he realized that photography is a very powerful tool in preserving memories. It was during that time where he found his true passion for photography.

Since then, Mr. Wiggins has traveled from Los Angeles to Jamaica and a majority of points in between sharing his gift with the world. Words can't express how truly blessed to have a strong supporting cast of family and friends that are his cheerleaders of encouragement. Photography is a very rewarding profession and Mr. Wiggins has taken full advantage of the opportunities that have been placed before him.

Red Tails

Today is THE DAY!! The movie “Red Tails” will be hitting the big screen!! A crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II, are called into duty under the guidance of Col. A.J. Bullard played by Actor Terrence Howard. Today media provides a cloudy and gray truth about dealing with and overcoming obstacles for the greater good. Red Tails, a film by George Lucas with a great cast, reminds us that good is about being selfless even when supporting and fighting for those who think and treat you with little to no respect. The film teaches us to embrace with passion our purpose and push through the obstacles to get winning results, which is beneficial to others. This is one of the first times that there has been a major motion picture with a majority African American cast. It is said that after many film companies declined to finance the film, George Lucas fronted the 53 million of his own money to create this movie.

Please click the “refresh” button if you cannot see the trailer for the movie above this line.

Please take a look a few of these images that I captured in Washington DC. The main characters from the movie Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Junior, Nate “Boomer Sooner” Parker, and David Owelowo. The group were out promoting the movie and receiving the official endorsement from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Unreal.

You were feelin’ Terrance’s emotions. This is what cameras were made for.
